Green Peppers

8 x 10.5 inches, watercolor, 2009.

These lovely, shiny green peppers were also part of this year's homegrown pepper crop.

Three Squash

8 x 10.5 inches, watercolor, 2009.

These are three of the squash we grew this summer. We hadn't grown squash before so we were curious to see how it turned out. Sadly it wasn't good - the fruits were very bitter and nasty to taste (and very poisonous if eaten). It's not clear why this happened but at least they looked nice enough to paint!

Yellow Chilli Peppers

5 x 7 inches, watercolor, 2009.

Another painting of some produce grown at home. I love chillis and spicy foods, and this year grew a variety of chillies of diferent strengths in the greenhouse - these are quite mild but still pack a nice warm punch.

Homegrown Tomatoes

10 x 7 inches, watercolour, 2009.

A painting of some of the tomato crop from this year - so red and juicy I couldn't resist painting them.
