The transition from Winter to Spring is a strange and wonderful sight. Patches of snow there, spring green here.... and every once in a while, a bunch of crocus peeking up with their early spring color! This was the inspiration for my newest watercolor "Spring is Coming".

Search WnW on eBay to find many of these wonderful watercolors

A heart full of hearts is what I chose to paint for my valentine. The piece is 5x7 inches, and I have already mounted it on a card and will give it to my very own sweetie on Valentine Day. PS: Each little heart in the box has it's own special message!

Dreamer (Self Portrait)

5 x 7 inches, watercolor, 2008

This is my entry for the "Nude In Art" show. It's a self portrait of me lying naked on a bed, asleep. I wasn't really asleep though - I took the photos myself with my camera, holding it above me. I then joined the images together to make the drawing. I wanted to do something personal - when we are asleep we are often naked and vulnerable. I also though it would be a good process to paint myself naked and to display it. Often nudes are about presenting a beautiful body to be admired but with this I just wanted to say "here I am".

Piazza San Carlo - Turin - Italy - ACEO

ACEO ORIGINAL WATERCOLOR 2,5 x 3,5 inches
Winsor & Newton on Watercolor 140 lbs/300gms Arches Cold pressed paper
San Carlo Square (Piazza San Carlo), is one of the most famouse squares of Italy,
it's in the center of Turin (Torino) town and it's friendly called "Turin's lounge".
The square was projected by Carlo di Castellamonte in the 17th century,
but was enriched one century later by the architect Benedetto Alfieri.
In the middle rises the equestrian statue of theDuke Emanuele Filiberto (by Carlo Marocchetti - 1838).
The square has a rectangular shape and on the long sides are the
two twins palaces called Solaro del Borgo.
On the south side are two churches attibuted to the Castellamonte Architect.
The whole square is surrounded by porticoes where now are many famouse fashion-shops and old cafeteries.
After a great restoration the square has rised to a new youth in the last years and traficis not allowed now , this is why each time I pass through it I love to feel the ancient air you can breathe in this little corner of history.

Our Creek

This is the creek in back of our house. Click to see it bigger. Watercolors on 140 lb cold press Arches paper.

When there is a big rain, the creek swells up high and runs very fast, and would be dangerous to fall in. Turtles, fish, and birds live in and around the creek--small egrets and some kind small blue waterbird that I can never see except on the wing, perhaps it is a small heron.

Consider the Ravens: they do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds?" Luke12:24

Buckeye

A North American butterfly which can be found from Maine to Mexico, it is easily recognized by it's distinct wing pattern resembling eyes.
I've been fortunate to see this butterfly in wooded areas, but as yet have never had one visit my gardens.
This is an ACEO size original watercolor. I added a slight shadow under the wings for added dimension, giving the appearance of being mounted on the paper.
