Hot Latino ACEO

ACEO, 2.5 x 3.5 inches, watercolour, 2008.

For this months WNW Group Challenge we were asked to paintn and image using a limited palette of seven colours - all other colours were to be mixed from those colours. My seven colours were raw sienna, cadmium yellow, cadmium red, alizarin crimson, cerulean blue, prussian blue and burnt umber.
It meant I couldn't depend on my usual skin tone formula and had to work a bit harder to get things right.

Adam Bites The Apple

3.5 x 4 inches, watercolor and gouache, 2008.

Adam in the Garden of Eden about to take a chunk out of the apple that Eve has given him, the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge, which had been forbidden to them. Once tasted they became aware of good and evil, and innocence was lost. Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden.
