Love her fleshy neck, makes me wonder if I'm a vampire :)

Strikingly beautiful - red hair/green eyes, flawless complexion - another perfect mermaid. Well done, Mark!

Particularly love the eyes. Did you have someone in mind when you painted this?

Hi, just discovered this blog of wonderful work! I paint in watercolors but am not familiar with gouache. I know what gouache is but thought it was opaque. Your painting appears fairly transparent with the exception of the mermaids hair. Fabulous work either way!

Mark, Bravo!
This exactely how I'd like to have a portrait of myself, took in a moment when your soul is faraway and nobody can know what's in your mind.
I love her nose, eyes, lips her all!
Maybe your best one... to me.

Thank you everyone for your lovely comments!
Jean - no, no one in mind.

Laure - you are right, gouache are opaque. I only really use white gouache to do highlights and the little sparkles. So the majority of the painting is translucent watercolor :)
