Kalliades ACEO

ACEO, 2.5 x 3.5 inches, watercolour and gouache, 2008.
Kalliades is a character from the second of David Gemmell's Troy novels, "Shield of Thunder". He is a Mykene warrior turned outlaw, on the run from Agamemnon. After saving Piria (actually Kalliope, Achilles' sister ) from pirates, he, his friend Banocles and Piria are taken aboard the "Penelope", ship of Odysseus.

Mark, I often think your work can't possibly get any better...but it does. I keep noticing new things that impress me, like the remarkable number of ways that you can portray water. Wet hair, dew, ocean spray... you're amazing. Fearless.
