Tired Peony with it's Vegetable Friends DPW challenge

"Tired Peony and its Vegetable Friends" 10x6 watercolors
This week's Daily Paintworks challenge is to paint vegetables from life.  I wasn't sure how I'd like the challenge, especially using watercolors.  I tend to think in oils when I consider painting still life.  But I think the rich color transitions made this project fun.

I was tempted to paint a person for the peony's friend but I didn't.  So I hope I get humanitarian points for that ;)

I really like the colors used in this, I just can't figure out why there is a peony laying next to broccoli and garlic. :^) This really a pretty piece.

I guess the peony is not very picky about the company it keeps ;)

LOL the peony is there because I've been wanting to paint that darn peony for a couple days and now it's lost all its pretty petals so I figured I'd paint it with the vegetables anyway HAHAHA!
