Cabbage and Onions



10 x 7 inches, watercolour, 2010.

I set the challenge for the WnW Watercolour group this month. The challenge was to paint from one of the photos I provided but only to use five basic colours (one red, one yellow, one blue and two of the artists choice) - all other colours had to be mixed from the five colours.

I chose cadmium red, new gamboge and cerulean blue plus burnt umber and opera rose.
You can see the colour chart below I made as I went along.
