42

8 x 11 inches, watercolour, 2009.

Another self-portrait for the EBSQ Self portrait show and WNW January Challenge, and also a companion piece to "22", my previous self-portrait of myself aged 22. This portrait is intended to show not only how I have aged over the 20 years but also how I see myself as a happier and more relaxed and contented person.

That is excellent and you look excellent at 42! This is your best portrait Mark! Why am I going to bother with my portrait(s) after this???

Mark! Great work and it's super to see the change in you. You look calmer and more comfortable with yourself. I could go on forever about your technical expertise delivering this excellent piece. I'll just say your forte is showing, again :)

What I love about this is the expressive quality you've captured. This person is so real! Of course the technical execution is beautiful, but it contains that spark of life and meaning that is so attracting.

Mark I don't know if you were much better at 22 or now, both portraits show a talent (in all sense)!!!

P.s. What ya doing with this so long sideburn??? LOL

Brilliant work, Mark. This is the kind of portrait that will live long, long, long, after the subject.
