Young King Henry

4 x 6 inches, watercolour, gouache and gold ink, 2008.
A portrait of Henry VIII in his late twenties. He was described as "the most handsome potentate I have ever set eyes upon" by a Venetian ambassador and was tall, well built and athletic. He tends to be remembered as the large obese ogre he became later in life.

LOL there's no justice in life! Well there is, as you've done another wonderful job on his portrait. I can almost run my fingers through his beautifully texture beard!
