Eos was the goddess of the Dawn in greek mythology, sister to Selene the moon goddess and Helios, the sun god, for whom she opened the gates of heaven every morning so he could ride across the sky. She, like her sister, had many lovers, notably Astraios, the god of dusk, with whom she bore the wind and stars.
