I've been experimenting with Yupo watercolor paper. It's so different, and so slippery. I'm discovering I can't erase on Yupo, or it leaves areas that resists paint. Vintage Crockery

This is a small crockery study that I did earlier this year. I am endlessly fascinated by how some colors are so complimentary to others. Like this combination --- green and burnt sienna. I am attracted to this combination over and over. Maybe in 100 years I will come to understand why some colors compliment each other. Anyway, this one was fun!

Patio Flowers

This is a preliminary study that I painted - a warm-up, kind of, for a larger flower market painting that I'd like to do. Always wanted to paint a French flower market scene. So many ideas, so little time. It's also inspired by my love for potted chrysanthemums. The pink is one of my favorite pinks: Sennellier Carmine.

Texas Bluebonnets in Mason Jar Watercolor Painting

I'm always looking for new ways to paint Bluebonnets. They're kinda frustrating to paint, because of all the tiny bits and parts, and the leaves are so small. It's hard not to nitpick with them. But I love to see wildflowers in mason jars. So simple and unpretentious.
