A portrait of artist and fellow EBSQ'er Amanda Makepeace. Amanda and I have paired up for this year's EBSQ Portrait Swap, and this is my portrait of her.

Cassie and Mannie

Every year the EBSQ have a Pet Portrait Swap - you pair up with another artist from the site and swap portraits of each other's pets. I haven't taken part for a couple of years but this year I agreed to swap with Tracey Allyn Greene as she is a big cat lover and I have the new kittens (and she does lovely work!). This painting is of two of her cats, Mannie and Cassie. They had been abandoned and were lucky enough to be found and later adopted by Tracey. I tried to convey how contented and happy they are to be with each other and with Tracey!

Another self-portrait for the EBSQ Self portrait show and WNW January Challenge, and also a companion piece to "22", my previous self-portrait of myself aged 22. This portrait is intended to show not only how I have aged over the 20 years but also how I see myself as a happier and more relaxed and contented person.

This is a self portrait of myself at 22, painted for the EBSQ Self Portrait show and the WNW watercolour group self portrait challenge.

At 22 I was still a student, it was the dog end of the 80's and I had big hair and a big pout.

Andromeda Watercolor Art By Erika

"After Sir Edward Poynter's Andromeda" OSWOA /4"x6" inches
Classic painter Sir Edward Poynter (1836-1919) painted a scene from a Greek mythology Andromeda who was chained to the rocks by Poseidon to punish her mother from bragging so much about the beauty of her a daughter.

I discovered that Poynter also did a few other pieces based on this and one of them was a beautiful sketch of Andromeda with wonderful anatomical definitions that many figurative artists love to depict (because their college teachers patted them on the head when they showed those lovely muscles he patiently taught them). As a result I was even more interested paying tribute to Poynter's Andromeda because I wanted to render mine in color but merging both his smoother very feminine colored version with his less feminine but muscle defined drawings

I did this piece as an entry for EBSQ Nude Show and for my watercolor group with "The Sea" as their theme for their Monthly Master Challenge.
